Most people know of the Yule Log, but most people haven’t heard about “Caga Tio”, the log that children in Spain “feed” throughout December in the hopes that it will poop out presents on Christmas Day. Yep, you heard that right! We’re definitely not making it up. Just check out the articles below if you doubt us!

So, to make sure all the logs of Christmastime had their moment, we created an entire day to celebrate them. We cued up Nick Offerman on the TV with his hearthside video, mixed up some “Fireside” cocktails, ate some tenderloin roulade for dinner and a boozy cherry log for dessert.

We also had fun with challenges of Christmas crosswords and word searches by the fireplace, a “Yule Log” stacking challenge, and “Yule Shoot Your Eye Out” ornament sharpshooting.

But let’s be honest, the star of the show was Caga Tio. We obviously had to construct our very own Caga Tio. And yes, he did poop out almonds and nougats as we have been very good. We loved so many elements of this day. And we thing our Caga Tio is absolutely adorable and will likely find a way to be incorporated into our Christmas decor so as to be put on display for others to enjoy and for us to smile at every time we see him.
