25 DAtes of christmas

Hello! We’re the Sommerfeld Family! What started as a fun adventure during the COVID pandemic to create a bit of cheer each day of the 2020 holiday season has now become an annual family tradition that we call “25 Dates of Christmas”.

Every December, our family creates and puts on twenty-five uniquely themed dates and miniature parties. Each one of these dates features and celebrates a notable food, a cherished tradition, or an iconic symbol of the Christmas season. Some dates are as simple as a cocktail and a craft while others are multi-course meals celebrating Christmas traditions from around the world.

Since we first started this in 2020, our family has grown and so have the ambition of some of the dates, but the intention has always remained the same— to make each day of the holiday season a bit more memorable and special by spending quality time with those that you love!

We have over one hundred dates already created for you to explore with an additional twenty-five more coming each year. Don’t worry, we’ve done the research and have over six hundred themes in development to ensure we can sustain this endeavor as long as our kids are in the house to share this family tradition. 

We’re not social media influencers and there’s certainly nothing special about us. We’re just two everyday people from St. Paul, Minnesota working full-time jobs while raising toddler twins. And if we can do this, then you can too!

The blog is meant to be simple and straightforward with easy-to-access resources. Choose to engage or replicate as much or as little as you want. So come along and join us as we set out to make each holiday season just a little more joyous and special!
