Christmas in Canada
Christmas Day took us north to Canada—sledding as a family, building a balloon igloo beneath shimmering Northern Lights, writing to Santa at H0H 0H0, and gathering for a late-night Réveillon feast. Food, play, and reflection blended into a day that felt both deeply festive and quietly meaningful.
NORAD Santa Tracker
Christmas Eve followed Santa’s real-time journey with the NORAD Santa Tracker. We started with mincemeat muffins and oranges, traced Santa from Russia toward Sri Lanka, took turns playing Santa in the delivery game, called NORAD, and ended the night with reindeer tracks and cookies.
Mall Santas
A day built around one of America’s most enduring Christmas traditions: the mall Santa. From Oreo Santas and Coca-Cola games to family photos at the mall and real stories from behind the beard, this date traced how belief, nostalgia, and Christmas magic became a shared cultural ritual.
Can’t Spell “WINTER” Without “WINE”
A joyful Vin-ter Solstice Cellar-bration built around wine, light, and reflection. From a 9:02 AM countdown brunch to snowy vineyard walks, cork crafts, and a candlelit basement “cellar,” the day marked winter’s beginning—and the promise that more light is coming.
The Feast of Dedication: A Hannukah Celebration
A reflective Lifegroup gathering centered on the Feast of Dedication—retelling the Hanukkah story, lighting candles, sharing food, and remembering moments when God kept the flame alive. A night of table fellowship, quiet reverence, and renewed commitment to live in the Light of the world.
Christmas in South Carolina
A South Carolina Christmas where history met holiday play: Gullah dishes, sweet tea, and colonial-era sillabub alongside lighthouse crafts, beach-inspired games, and a full round of indoor mini golf. A warm, coastal take on Christmas far from the snow.
Holiday In Handcuffs
A holiday whodunnit built on misdirection: handcuffed cooking, a surprise happy hour, and a shocking alleyway crime scene. Fueled by themed bites and smoking gun cocktails, the night turned into a full investigation—all in service of ensuring the guilty spent their Holiday in Handcuffs.
“A Christmas Prince” & Rumple minze
A royally themed Christmas night pairing the cozy predictability and warmth of A Christmas Prince with the icy bite of Rumple Minze. Crowns, crests, Wellington, Brie, cherry cordials, and minty schnapps turned contrast into ceremony.
Christmas in Utah
A Utah Christmas built on snow, community, and Olympic spirit. From fry-bread scones and Jell-O cutouts to an upscaled potluck, backyard Winter Games, skijoring relays, cocoa, and an eggnog ice luge, the day celebrated Utah’s wintry heart and playful holiday traditions.
Pannetones & Pine Cones
A cozy hygge night built around homemade panettone, creative pine-cone crafts, and a theme that didn’t quite rhyme—but delivered plenty of warmth anyway. French-toast panettone, pine-cone treats, forest-themed fun, and a cozy, sweet, not-quite-rhyming Christmas celebration.
Cold December Night
A candlelit, Bublé-themed evening with pine aromas, cozy-couture pajamas, lyric-inspired games, sheet-music singalongs, sweet treats, and a romantic winter dinner. A gentle, heart-warming start to December shaped by the glow of “Cold December Night.”
Christmas in Brazil
A tropical Christmas inspired by Brazil’s midsummer season—panettone and açaí, carnival crafts, samba dancing, coconut snow cones, jungle-themed games, and a vibrant Rio backdrop. A bright, playful day where Christmas met the rainforest.
Sugar & Booze
A sweet-and-spirited Christmas celebration inspired by Ana Gasteyer’s “Sugar & Booze,” tracing how sugar and alcohol shaped holiday traditions from medieval feasts to Victorian puddings and global nogs. Eggnog bakes, boozy desserts, candy-shot crafts, trivia, and friends made history taste festive.
The Peppermint Twist
A swirled-and-twirled holiday adventure where peppermint treats, crafty chaos, retro décor, and a Chubby Checker dance floor took over the basement. The Peppermint Twist Lounge delivered pure family fun—dizzy spins, candy-striped creations, and a joyful Christmas day wrapped in red-and-white cheer.
Cup of Cheer
A grown-up spin on the classic cocoa day: chocolate-stout hot chocolates, mug-decorating crafts, soup and sandwich shooters, buttered-rum park sips, and a miniature-mug tasting menu. A festive celebration where every moment arrived in a cup.
Star of Bethlehem
A night of wonder inspired by the Star of Bethlehem: glowing star hunts, shimmering crafts, a simple Bethlehem-style feast, and stories that lifted our eyes and hearts. This quiet, faith-filled date reminded us that Christmas begins by following the Light of the world.
