Four Calling Birds

This was a fun evening of reuniting with friends of old. We Facetimed (ie: called) four friends who have "flown" away from us via either time and years past or geography to distant corners of the United States. It was such a fun time to reminisce and laugh and enjoy each other’s company once again.

And as the original song actually referenced "colly" birds instead of "calling" birds, the menu embraced all things "colly" (ie: to blacken with soot). We ate blackened chicken, "colly" collard greens, and "lumps of coal" cookies for dessert. Plus, wine from Bird Song Hill Winery accented with a lovely singing chirp wine pourer were the perfect pairing for the occasion.
