Seven Swans a Swimming

It’s hard to find swans or swimming options in a Minnesota winter, but Ben somehow managed to still pull together a remarkably creative evening for “Seven Swans a Swimming”. He focused on the six different breeds of swans (Black Necked, Whooper, Black, Tundra, Mute, and Trumpeter) and pulled in the Swan breed of mussels to miraculously find SEVEN SWANS and ultimately incorporate different elements for each into the evening.

It all started with a surprise “spa session” for Bekah complete with swan towels, a face mask, a swan pool floaty, and a Twisted Swan cocktail that let her enjoy a restful “swim” after a full work day.

But each item also cleverly tied back into the breeds of swans, swimming, or Christmas. After the “swim”, it was a dinner of mussels (Bekah’s favorite!)accompanied by a playlist of Christmas trumpets and then wrapping up the evening with holiday whoopie pies (made with Swan’s Cake Flour that had Ben running around the Cities trying to find a place that carried it like he was Arnold Schwarzenegger in “Jingle All the Way”). And obviously a few "swan-themed" Sporcle quizzes and picture finds  seemed apropos to include as well. The challenge keeps increasing with each numerical increase of the 12 Days of Christmas theme, but we’re up for the challenge!
