When someone else throws a Christmas event that you can simply attend instead of having to plan and craft and bake for yourself, we definitely like to take advantage. This year, the local Germanic American Institute hosted a Christmas Open Haus featuring German food, crafts, music, and festivities.

There was a spread of linzertortes and applekuchen and gluhwein to sip and savor while we wandered around the beautifully decorated Institute. With infant twins snuggled in tight in our bjorns, we didn’t get a lot of time to explore, but we sure did enjoy the time that we did have!
